Whats in a tear? -PIXEL- by Mistress-Jaeden Whats in a tear? -PIXEL- by Mistress-Jaeden
Dimensions are - 322x518
Colors used are - 14
Time elapsed - Took me like 3-4 weeks, I worked on it non stop at first,, then we went on vacation for a week, then shaun got me into warcraft *hangs head*
Hours spent - probably around 20, maybe more... not sure
Program - Microsoft Paint, Rotate and color correction done in Paint Shop Pro

Why did you make this? - In 2001 I was doodling an image on some construction paper and made - [link] After reading the comments, praising the originality of its concept, I decided I wanted to color it.. What a better medium then pixel?

Yes, I changed a fair ammount of it, and mirrored a part of it, but I think it is one of the most beautiful pieces Ive done, and Im quite proud of it.
Anyone who bitches about the anatomy needs to grasp the concept on imagination *nods head proudly*

Thank you for the daily Deviation ^_^ And everyone for there wonderful comments, I have another thing in my head, Im probably going to make it my next banner.. cant explain it but I promise it will be another "learning session"

Id also like to add that this was another learning expierement for me; Depth. A few people mentioned that it was well portrayed. Im quite happy that my first play on abstract depth went so well.

It was also my first monotone pixel piece. The pallet originates from a layout sky scene a friend is working on, with a few edits. Thanks hun!

I knew my tears had a little something extra in them last time I shed them! Whats in a tear? -PIXEL- by ~Mistress-Jaeden is an impressive, imaginative close-up of our favorite (or not so-favorite!) salty-discharge in a web-esque style. Peep it well! I have to say I like this much better than the original sketch... not only is it an amazing pixel work, but just beautiful in general. Plain hypnotizing.

I told you when you first showed me that drawing that it was the most beautiful and imaginative piece I've ever seen. I was in awe over the your pencil work...mostly becaust it wasn't one of your well thought out, each strok goes here pieces that you do so well...it was an idea sketch. What you've turned that Idea into is....I'm without words to truly say what I mean. I've watched your progress on this piece and I am and will always be astounded by this piece. My favorite part is the foot evolving into the wateey mass of the tear. That was my favorite part of the drawing and my favorite part of this finished piece.

I not only compliment you on this piece...but I commend your patients, and your talent. The depth of this piece is awesome.

With every piece you top yourself. I can't wait till the day comes when evey piece you put out will be of utmost brillance and no one will ever be able to top the perfection you have already begun to achieve.

Bravo. *humps* May all your children be as brilliant as you are....and as hot you damn milf.

jae, your imagination never falls short to amaze. im really proud of what youve done here! im glad to see it finally came to a finish, the final works are beautiful. there is just so much depth to it, for just a pixelation and its an abstract concept in itself. its like seeing yourself in your own flaws and unhappyness, curled into that ever familiar ball that is sadness...but seeing it through your expression of that sadness...a tear. very good work jae....the hard work sure paid off.

Fucking outSTANDing Jaeden, like....you've really screwed yourself over now because this is going to be overshadowing whatever you do next!! LOL but knowing you, probably not. :D The way her leg morphs into the substance, and her hair - so much depth. I love it!!

Just out of curiosity. Is this all hand pixeled? Dot by dot? Or how do you do them? They are so amazing and perfect. If you do it by hand you should be worshiped as a Goddess. If you dont' do it by hand...Well you still should be worshiped as a Goddess. lol Kudos, it's beautiful.

Its hand pixelated yes, but not so much dot by dot... I use the HELL out of the line tool to make things go qicker, I also use the diagnal setting on the brush tool to make the checker board pixels quicker, Hell I even cheat by makeing 4 uniform pixels then copy and paste to help me dither quicker.

Technically all hand pixel, with a few short cuts, I have ALOT of the progress saved, I plan to animate it for everyone to view, Especially if I get DD again XD

Wow. That's...breath taking. -staaaaaaares-

Instead of it discouraging me, it makes me want to try harder at pixeling... maybe limit the colors I use on an image, see how much detail I can put in on smaller pixels, stuff like that.

Major thumbs up!

Jae, this is absolutely fabulous! Gods, and only twenty hours?! I can imagine how long it would take me *chuckles* Honestly, when you make things like this, it inspires me to try that much harder to go the extra inch with what I do, no matter how much I want to kill it sometimes.
I think her anatomy is beautiful and anyone who has a beef with it should have the stick surgically removed from their ass ^.~ *bows down to*

Excelent.
I love how the tear hollows out in the middle, and then it seems like it isn't hollow by it flowing back onto the limbs of the person inside it.

the anatomy doesnt look bad.

Thats only 14 colors?!?! Looks like more.. I love the hair and the foot. The foot looks really cool. I would never have the patience to try that! Every time I try a big pixel project, I scrap it.. or forget all about it!! (like my darren hayes pic *dies*)

instead of being discouarged by someone's work, which they have worked incredably hard on, why don't you let it inspire you to do better? sticking comments up like "i'm never going to try again because i can never be as good as you" isn't going to make the artist feel good, and you're hindering yourself by not trying to exceed your own limitations.

GOD i hate people who post comments like this. -.-
