Subject
Pixel something that makes you, or our community, feel nostalgia.
Definition
The term nostalgia describes a longing for the past, often in idealized form. The word is made up of two Greek roots (νόστος nostos "returning home", and άλγος algos "pain"), to refer to "the pain a sick person feels because he wishes to return to his native home, and fears never to see it again". It was described as a medical condition, a form of melancholy, in the Early Modern period, and came to be an important topic in Romanticism.

2) An old photo of a loved one come to pass.
3) An abandoned room with a dusty NES system tossed in the corner.

350x350 max,
250 colors max,
Please save your image file as a .gif - OR - .png.
A preview image is required for .Gif files. Please choose an area of your image that best reprisents your submission to the contest. Haveing a white block with the words "preview" in it, doesn't do an image you have to download any justice.
No blending, tooling, gradients, photo manipulations, tracing, sprite-ripping, or the like will be accepted.
Images found to have been used from other images, or programs, will be disqualified and moved to scraps.
JPEGS or JPGs will not be accepted due to image artifact.
Advice
We encourage you to post in our pixel art forum [link] and get some serious discussions and ideas flowing! Post your wips and utilize critiques to improve your submissions! We would love to see the forum continue to grow and this is a great opportunity to utilize it to your advantage.
Time frame
We would like to see this contest be successful and enjoyable for all of our pixel artists.
The contest will run from May 12th to June 12th.
That's 1 month to come up with a concept and work your fingers to the bones!
Prizes
1st place - 1 year subscription to Deviantart.
2nd place - 6 month subscription to Deviantart.
3rd place - 3 month subscription to Deviantart.
Community favorite (will be poll related) - Dev wear.
Where to submit
